Noise in the news

If this month is any indication, more and more people are waking up to the problems of leaf blowers and the increasingly pressing public health issue of noise generally.

CBC Radio conducted an informative interview with retired chemical engineer, Monty McDonald, on the health hazards of gas leaf blower pollution. Meanwhile, in the Pensacola News Journal, John Herron, a Navy veteran and activist with Quiet Pensacola, has published an op-ed on how leaf blowers have disrupted life in his community. And finally, in an article for The New Yorker, David Owen explores the detrimental impacts of noise pollution on humans and wildlife.
